Mr Gulzar awarded OBE in Queen’s Birthday Honours List

We are delighted to announce that Mr Gulzar, our CEO has been awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in this year’s Queen’s Birthday honours list. Mr Gulzar is one of 48 people to be honoured this year for Services to Education.

On receiving the award Mr Gulzar said “I was surprised and humbled to be recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for Services to Education. Ever since I was a student teacher, I have done my very best to make a positive difference to children’s lives and for them to benefit from their education in the way that I have”. He added “This honour isn’t just for me and my family. It is for my colleagues, for the communities we serve and the children who are entrusted to us. I have had the privilege of working with amazing families and the most talented and dedicated people in education over the past 20 years without whom this recognition would be impossible”.

Sue Knottenbelt, Chair of Trustees at Prince Albert Community Trust said "The award of an OBE to Sajid Gulzar represents a huge personal achievement and well-deserved recognition for his outstanding leadership, dedication and effective work in raising standards and improving life chances in our city.  This recognition is great for Sajid personally and also great for the staff and pupils of our PACT schools and the communities we serve and for Birmingham."

I am sure that you will join all of us at the Prince Albert Community Trust in congratulating Mr Gulzar on his extraordinary achievement.
