Message from CEO

Dear Parents and Carers

We are living through historic and unprecedented events. For schools to be closing for an unspecified period of time would have been unimaginable just a few weeks ago. Our number priority has been and will remain to be the safety and security of our pupils. We do however, understand the need for some schools to remain open in order for key personnel to ensure the safety of the nation and to keep the country functioning.

This is an especially confusing and unsettling time for our children and a worrying time for parents and carers. In know some of you will also be worried about your children’s learning during the school closures. We have provided a wealth of resources and ideas on school websites for you to use throughout the time that schools are closed. School staff will be adding to these as time goes by. I want assure you though, that whatever learning our pupils miss out on, we will catch them up very quickly when they come back to school and there will be little or no lasting impact.

My advice to you both as a teacher and a father is to spend as much quality time with your children as you can. Try to learn new things together such as a new language on-line or a new hobby. Explore books and new knowledge together, talk to them about what is going on in the world to help them to make sense of it. Although we are being told to physically distance ourselves from family, friends and neighbours, this is a really good time to reinforce the idea that we are one community and need to look out for each other.

I pray that all of you and your families remain in the very best of health and look forward to the day that we can welcome all of our children back to school.
